Bryce Canyon, Day 2! Bryce Point Lookout & Queens Garden Trail – February 19 2023
Bryce Point Lookout
On Sunday, we went to the Bryce Point lookout – the views were stunning. The contrast of the red and tan hoodoos against the white snow with the green pine trees and bright blue sky was so striking (although I’m sure they’re incredible during every season!).
Queens Garden Trail/Peekaboo Loop
Afterwards, we hiked Queens Garden which takes you up and down the canyon so you’re constantly getting different views of the hoodoo’s, looking down on them and then being in the middle of them. So cool! It is probably the most popular hike in Bryce Canyon and there were tons of people out hiking. There seemed to be a really high concentration of hoodoos in this part of the part; a true forest of hoodoos! There was still tons of snow but it was well packed so much easier going! It was warmer, probably 40 degrees, and very sunny and clear.
Thors Hammer is along this trail!
We’ve fallen in love with hiking during our travels. One of the things I love is that while hiking, you see an area from so many angles and viewpoints; there is something so special about seeing a view from above and then hiking down into it and seeing it from a totally different perspective and noticing new things.
I LOVED Bryce and already cannot wait to go back! The hoodoos are truly other-worldly and so unique.
We stopped to check out the Mossy Cave on our way out. I’ve never seen such large chunks of ice before or such a large frozen waterfall!
