Albuquerque Travel Guide

Below are some of our favorite things from the week!

What we did

  • Sandia Peak Tramway – you can read about our experience here
  • La Luz to Tramway #137B Hike
  • Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta – more details here!
  • Ran on the Paseo del Bosque Trail
  • Spin class at Cycle Bar
  • Gym time at Anytime Fitness
  • Jordan worked at FatPipe ABQ Coworking Space
  • Tennis with a former college player

What we ate & drank

  • Founders Speakeasy. I had their Banana Bread Old Fashioned, with pineapple rum substituted for the bourbon. It was DELICIOUS! Jordan had a spicy Mezcal cocktail which he also really enjoyed.
  • Little Bear Coffee: Our favorite coffee spot in ABQ! Everything we tried was good, but the pour-overs were the best. We loved the Kenya blend. Super cute spot with seating both inside and outside. It was pretty chilly in the mornings sitting inside – no heat and it was 55 ish … after spending the last year in Florida, that is pretty much freezing to me 😉
  • Humble Coffee Downtown
  • Apothecary – great for sunset drinks
  • El Pinto – great Mexican food with a cute patio
  • Padilla’s Mexican Kitchen – absolutely delicious, kind of a hole in the wall; the sopaipillas were incredible and the tamales!
  • Chiles are in abundance in Albuquerque and whenever you order something with chiles at a restaurant, they ask you if you want red (chiles) or green (chiles) or you can get Christmas… a little of both 😃 (our favorite!)

Where we stayed

We always joke about the weird things that the AirBnBs that we stay in either have, or don’t have. Most seem to only have three forks and others have been missing things like teaspoons, tablespoons, sponges (and that one had no dishwasher, and guests were required to wash their dishes before checking out haha). However, our AirBnB in Albuquerque was really well-equipped and beautifully decorated. It was a small studio but it’s amazing how comfortable a small space can be if the space is utilized well, and they did a great job with it.
